Chris Shrum Live
I was born and raised in San Diego, I’m a 3rd generation SD native, I fell for music at a very young age with family influences from my Grandfather, he was an avid pianist and recording enthusiast, my father and older brothers exposed me to many forms of Rock music throughout my childhood culminating into an interest to play and perform.
At the age of 12  I joined the Orchestra at my Jr. High School with the desire to learn to play the Classical bass, (Band Geek, I know) within a few months I had learned to site read music and play the Stand-up bass and was quickly enrolled at The School of Creative and
Performing Arts SD due to recommendations from my music teacher.
I attended SCPA for the remainder of my middle school years studying music theory and playing in the Youth Symphony, I joined my first rock band at the age of 13, playing Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Rush, UFO, Van Halen, AC/DC cover songs, I was immediately addicted and have never stopped playing the bass.

Benedictum came to me with the invitation to play bass for them and I was stoked to be considered the caliber of musician to play with them having been a fan of there’s for some time. Well, it’s been a whirlwind since and it just keeps getting better, I’m looking forward to performing for, and meeting you all!
